The South Central Railway (SCR) has announced plans to replace the coaches of the Shiridi Express and Bhavnagar Superfast Express trains with modern LHB (Linke Hofmann Bosch) coaches, starting from March 15th, 2023. This move is in line with the Indian Railways’ efforts to improve the speed and safety of its trains.
Both trains have an RSA (Rake Share Arrangement) with the same coaches. In a recent press release, SCR announced that it will allot new LHB stock with a revised coach composition for these trains. As part of this change, the number of sleeper classes (SL) will be reduced, and 3rd AC economy coaches (3E) will be added to improve the comfort of passengers.
By decreasing the number of Sleeper Class (SL) coaches, the 3rd AC economy class is being introduced for the first time from Kakinada.
