On Thursday, Joint Collector A. Mallikarjuna asked the officials of the East Godavari industries department to arrange a six-month Industrial training for the final year students of polytechnic in the existing industrial units from the next year.
“There are 39 polytechnic colleges in the district, including eight colleges being run by the government. The students should be given hands-on training experience before they complete their academics,” JC said while addressing a review meeting with the management of polytechnic colleges in the district and the officials of the industrial department.
Asking the college managements to list out the students who are eligible for the training, he advised the officials to make all the arrangements in advance, so that the colleges could prepare the timetable accordingly. He also highlighted the need for a direct interaction between the principals of the polytechnic colleges and the officials of the industries department. General manager of the district industries centre A.V. Patel and other officials were present at this review meeting.
